So the US just put the first ever UN mandate holder on their sanctions list. Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur for Palestine, got hit with the full SDN treatment by Marco Rubio.
Her crime? Writing a report called "From an Economy of Occupation to an Economy of Genocide" that named 45 companies including Lockheed Martin, Caterpillar and Google as profiting from Israel's operations and calling for ICC action.
Now she can't enter the US, all her assets are frozen, and anyone who does business with her risks getting fucked by Treasury. Even foreign banks and NGOs working with her could lose access to US markets.
