The seemingly endless ability combinations that was a rarity in the franchise (and Kirby 64 is the only time they were this uniquely done in the series)
The music and atmosphere of the levels. Character interactions in the story too.
The gameplay movement, while sluggish at points, made me appreciate messing around with the other aspects a ton in my younger days. Some copy ability combinations negated the sluggish parts too, which was fun to experiment with.
