I don't like HK for its souls-like mechanics but I'm a fan of the Ori games; and from what I have seen, the mobility upgrades in the Ori games are better and more substantial and fluid than HK's. Also I like Ori's art style better. Though I'm a metroidvania noob and didn't play a lot of them so there are probably better examples of the genre that I don't know about.
