I’m tired of AAA games. I’m tired of bribed reviewers, of activists pretending to be game devs, of all the corporate garbage. I’m just sick of it. Hardware keeps getting better, more people than ever have consoles, PCs and internet access and yet gaming feels worse than before. Back then, gaming was niche, movies and TV looked down on it. But once it got popular, of course corporations had to jump in and now it’s all the same recycled trash with expensive graphics, "serious stories" and as many microtransactions as they can cram in.
I miss the days when a bunch of nerdy friends could stay up all night with beers, loud music, and pizza, making a game that was groundbreaking but also just fun. When games were made by nerds with passion, not by soulless corporations. How are today’s games supposed to be fun when the people making them aren’t gamers, nerds, or enthusiasts, but corporate suits who don’t care about games at all? Without studios full of people who truly love games, this industry is headed for another crash and honestly, I hope it happens soon. Yeah, we still have indies, but let’s be real, small teams can’t make the big games we want. I’m just so tired of it all. I miss the days of passion, creativity, and genuine fun. Yes, I’m mad, I’m seething, whatever! I just need more FUN!
