Is that really the word that you wanna use for fanon given that Hetalia itself is fundamentally just some Japanese guy taking huge liberties with politics and history in pursuit of good yaoi? I never said he was exceptionally evil (a little evil is a given for all nation-tans), just very much in his head to a degree we IRL would call mental illness and inconsiderate to a destructive degree, and I already said that my view of Canada is of a nice guy who was also kind of a bitch. Were I actually upset, it wouldn't be because of "different characterization," it'd be because of all this scarecrowing
