>Do warhammer fans like anything? Is it just a perpetual misery circle jerk
40k is actually an exceptional allegory for the state of itself. a rocky explosions from some fallen state of pre history (rogue trader was supposed to be a space ship skrimish campaign game)
exploding into a genre defining empire that pushed out it's competition ruthlessly until there was nothing left.
it nearly collapsed, cutting back as much as possible desperate to stay alive and reorganizing itself into the monster that it is now. now it's declining, falling apart internally, the cracks are starting to show as more and more of it begins to buckle under it's own bureaucratic weight.
