I've done it in all states west of the Mississippi and many East of it, there is no 'quitting society' but there is 'surfing on top skimming off the excess'. To get food you apply for food stamps and buy a hotpocket at the gas station every now and then inbetween dumpstering for food, otherwise you can do the real bum shit and fly a sign asking for food and you'll get loaded down with it - I have literally never had to fly a sign for food in 10 years, it's always been for money for weed or some other shit
