Anyone willing to entertain my spiral into insanity about card sleeves (after the other crying about curling cards)? If you don't want to read any further just post what you use please.
So basically tried every card sleeve on the market, not all of them pictured, these are just the most available in my country.
I tried various others, KMC, every Ultrapro / Eclipse, blackfire, gamegenic etc. etc.
Since I care about cards curling and the sweaty palms of the fattest of blobs at my locals I have to double sleeve.
There are two ways to go about this, inners or outers.
Outer sleeves make the cards substantially more massive, but they are less airtight and the only reasonable option is the DS outers which are too loose in general unless you use konami sleeves or similar for base sleeves.
Inner sleeves are a tossup, Ultra pros are too tight and sometimes damage cards (sideways warping), but are the best if they are good because of clarity.
Dragonshield QC sucks, KMC and Katana inners have stripes on them half the time.
DS diapers are shit because they don't fit most basic sleeves, even their own often.
I'm still leaning towards inner sleeving because the deck size stays reasonable, easier to shuffle, girly hand fags don't drop your deck while shuffling.
They are much less protective is a con. Second HUGE con is that every standard sleeve on the market is dogwater.
Dragonshield whites would be peak if they had quality control, at all. Out of the last 10 packs I bought (across 4 vendors to test) 8 of them had some error, either discoloration on the edges (marked cards), or the worst, a weird protrusion on the edge where they are heat cut, so they bite into each other while shuffling.
The dual mattes split often, despite having less issues with the cuts, and they are black in front which I dislike.
Katana/Cortex get filthy and sticky from all the sweatmonsters during a regional, they are also rather soft so get marked easy. The whites are not white in front.
