No no, they took him captive too. The prince isn't in love with him, but he does prove to be a valuable servant. And he knows if he does anything too severe to the fighter boy then the mage boy will never forgive him. The mage boy is willing to offer himself to the prince in exchange for the fighter boy's freedom. But the prince, being a proud demon lord, does not want a false, bought love.
For his part, the fighter boy is trying to rise in the ranks of the demonic legion and earn the prince's trust to create an opportunity to escape with the mage boy. But as he spends time with the prince he finds himself growing to respect him, and maybe even developing feelings for him.
A dramatic love triangle ensues.
