I think of "toys" as "art"

--they are tiny sculptures
--the packaging has artwork all over it
--the package itself is sometimes artful
--they exist from artful things like shows, movies, or some other media. and even original things outside of that is created by an artist of some kind

browsing the toy aisle is somewhat like looking through an art gallery. a lot of talented artists did a lot of work to everything there.

and for a few measly bucks you can take it home with you? what a deal!

"back in the day" the toy companies did not put much effort into the girl characters looking "hot" they just included them for Smurfette purposes (your sister can play, too!)

modern MOTU & G.I.Joe Classified put some solid effort into making the characters look attractive. (they don't always nail it, but deserve props for effort)

Wrestling, Marvel, and Star Wars Black Series do a good match to the actors, so if the actor is hot, so will the character.

if you want hottie-hot characters, anime is your gold mine
