I think I am very liberal on a personal level but I support the right wing out of some sense of spite. What causes this?

I've been pretty emotionally stable my whole life but the weight of getting dumped 2 months ago has somehow just hit me full force right now and I'm having a complete breakdown for the first time ever. Can't stop crying, just want to destroy everything in my proximity.
