I had the fortune of reading the TYBW arc after the manga had finished, so I didn't have to wait for new chapters. But, holy shit, it was a massive slog and I also wound up skimming because it was hard to care about all these characters that were, quite frankly, less interesting than the usual ones in Bleach, as well as all the technicalities that made up the bulk of the "plot" in it ("ah, but did you know that the condition for my power is actually more hyperspecific than you realized and that I'm about to pull an Uno Reverse on you because reasons?" "Heh. Jokes on you, my new abilities actually activate when you unleash your hidden techniques and will end you the moment you try something." "Ha! You're bluffing!" "We'll see about that!" "Raaaa!" "Hyaaaa!" etc etc).
Even with that, I didn't realize that it is the single biggest/longest contiguous Bleach arc in the whole series by a massive amount. Anyone who pushes the "he was rushed" angle needs to see this chart and revise their argument. He could've made it a lot more to the point, especially if he took a bit more time off the plan the thing (or maybe would discuss stuff collaboratively with his editors).

The "he was rushed" argument is such fucking easily-debunked nonsense I can't believe it's still peddled. He took 15 weeks of breaks during TYBW, ostensibly due to health issues, but also explicitly to plan things out. As others have said, guy has high levels of NPD and I would not be surprised there was cover-up behind the scenes since Japanese love to sweep that kind of stuff under the rug.

Also: if health and planning were such an issue, why not take an extended break, like Tabata did with Black Clover? Does Kubo not care about his story as much as him?
