i just realized how stupid the Thing movie is, because it just needed to run to the ocean, or grow wings and fly to the Ocean, transform into a whale and consume biomass. or maybe it could just melt the ice, and reach ocean beneath.

the point is - every body you dump into space can be retrieved. Like what they did in Alien:Romulus. Someone can just catch the body you dumped, and bring it on board, and do research, reconstructing xenomorph DNA from the traces.
