stop and think about how stuff actually works before thinking it just works. we don’t live in the cool sci-fi future where AI can decipher alien code, we live in the dumb sci-fi present where an ongoing
competency crisis has led people to believe that AI can decipher alien code when it’s just spitting out a result to justify its functionality for whatever company developed it. this makes all the “good guy/bad guy” completely irrelevant and the coded message might as well be gibberish. picrel.
