This is why Tucker's so good. He knows these people because he is this type of person. He's lived with them his whole life. He grew up with them. He's deeply embedded.
The only difference between Tucker and any other swamp creature is that Tucker has lost faith in the project. He's had a conversion experience and he sees doom ahead for not just the blob but also for America as a whole. And you can tell from how he talks that he just doesn't believe the project is noble anymore, even if he didn't perceive some type of looming doom at the end of all this mismanagement and corruption.
Tucker is a traitor to his kind, so he knows where all soft spots are, and he has all the deep contempt that intimate familiarity grants.
