Critical role has massively ruined the rpg space in both table top and video game form. Now almost every game has to have a group of super mary sue companions that all have the weight of the world on their shoulders and every MC has to be super special and save the world. I think baldurs gate three's story is a good way to look at all the negative effects this has caused.
