/v/ - Borderlands 4

My thoughts are that Borderlands was a one-off project that no one really thought would go anywhere that was memorable because the artstyle was cool.

The way that Borderlands looks is designed to be as blase as humanly possible.
It had 4 characters.
Nothing of consequence happens.
The environments are as interesting as a home depot in the middle of El Paso Texas.

That's not a slight. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. It just is how it is.

They made a mindless game about shooting people. The artstyle was the vision of a guy that liked the look of dusty warehouses in bumfuck nowhere, except it's in space.

If it ever got a sequel then they'd either need to completely revamp it and / or make it a hundred times more complicated like Path of Exile.

They made the same game *again* 3 times with about 10 DLCs and apparently also got Telltale Games in on it like anyone ever gave a fuck about the backstory of Marcus. And also a movie.

Borderlands 5 (there's the "pre-sequel") looks like Destiny with a few different bells and whistles.
Like the other guy said I'll buy it when it's $9 on Steam 4 years from now. I don't mean to sound impolite but I can't even imagine giving a fuck about this at this point.

Y'all not gonna talk about how division by zero is possible

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cayley%E2%80%93Dickson_construction
>each step up on the Cayley Dickson constructions loses some fundamental property of number theory
>complex numbers have no order
>quaternions stop commuting
>octonions neither commute nor associate, no one really knows what the fuck they are
>sedonions and onwards are no longer alternative (whatever that means, anyone?) and also support zero divisors

Infinity and zero are not opposite, and a number divided by zero is not infinity, but they go hand in hand.
A slope with infinite curvature is an orthogonal straight line.
A rotating sphere revolves around an infinitely thin pole with zero radius.
A black hole reaches a critical mass that spacetime can't support and then just has infinite density with an event horizon with a 0% chance of escape.

What the fuck is going on when you can divide by zero and have infinity show up in this finite dimensional set of numbers.
