Fallout 76 DLC Pitch: “Gone Fishin’”
New Region: The Rustwater Flats — a half-drained lake surrounded by rusting boardwalks, collapsed dams, and drowned amusement parks. It’s gorgeous at sunset… until the Geiger counter starts screaming.
Core Feature: Fishing System
Craftable rods made from scavenged junk (pipe rod, laser reel, rebar harpoon rod).
Over 30 mutated fish species unique to Appalachia’s waterways.
Fishing perks tie into existing SPECIAL stats (e.g., Luck affects rare catches, Strength lets you wrestle big ones, Charisma improves bartering fish at settlements).
Fish can be cooked for unique buffs or mounted as trophies in CAMPs.
New Factions:
The Anglers’ Lodge — eccentric wasteland fishers who see mutated fish as “God’s second flood.”
The Rustwater Raiders — pirates who use jet skis and jury-rigged pontoons to attack anglers.
Brotherhood Ichthyology Division — steel-plated zealots trying to weaponize mutant fish DNA.
Quests:
“Hook, Line, and Sinker” — tutorial quest where you catch your first glowing mudcarp.
“Gill of Rights” — help the Anglers’ Lodge prove that mutant fish are sentient by… teaching one tricks.
“The Leviathan” — endgame boss fight where an irradiated behemoth fish rises from the depths. Teams must reel it in using fusion-powered rods while fighting off waves of Mirelurks.
Rewards:
Unique power armor skin: Deep Diver Suit (anglerfish bioluminescent helmet).
“Fisher King” legendary harpoon gun.
CAMP item: mounted glowing fish tank.
Tone:
It blends Fallout humor with genuine survival vibes. Vault Boy perk cards would show him happily reeling in a smiling trout… and then being devoured by a tentacled horror in the next panel.
Tagline Bethesda would use:
“Grab your rod. The Wasteland’s biting back.”
