I didn't say "advanced" I said "complex", there's a difference. You can theoretically make an AI capable of mimicking all the functions of a living thing's brain, that's more advanced, that requires intent. You can also make an incredibly complex mechanical clock that's basically a Rube Goldberg machine, but it won't be anything more than a really complex clock.
