Sage is distinct enough from Bowser Jr. to stand out imho. I mean, Jr. with his introduction in Sunshine and thing with Bowser was more comic relief than anything else. Sage has a more emotional focus with Eggman and her "vibe" for want of a better term is all different.
I'd have been more concerned if Eggchild showed up in Lost World and looked like this.
