Honestly all the cool stuff during the Empire, the Brits just apporpriated from us. Canon executions were started in the Mughal Empire, then used by Marathas and then it was passed on as tradition to the British.

Same is for architecture, most of British architecture in India and in Empire regions look like a copy of Late Mediaeval Indian architecture (combination of Mughal & Rajput styles).

Even the most opulent event in the British Empire, the Delhi Durbar was straight up plagarism from the Indian Durbar tradition.
