Yeah, that's pretty gross, ngl. You gotta clean up all the body parts and shit, and you're wasting cannon shot. I get that it's for optics but surely there's a cleaner way.

The shitjeet invasion on Reddit made me realise just how unironically seething they still are.
I assumed it was just an /int/ meme about shithole nationalists, but no, they really do think they were unfairly treated and owed trillions kek. >>213540817
It was a standard punishment used by the native Indian states long before the British Raj ever existed.

not an official activity, but there were some thoughts aiming at the liberation of India like those of Gen'yosha.
Qing was regarded to focus more on their internal issues at that time.
Honestly all the cool stuff during the Empire, the Brits just apporpriated from us. Canon executions were started in the Mughal Empire, then used by Marathas and then it was passed on as tradition to the British.
Same is for architecture, most of British architecture in India and in Empire regions look like a copy of Late Mediaeval Indian architecture (combination of Mughal & Rajput styles).
Even the most opulent event in the British Empire, the Delhi Durbar was straight up plagarism from the Indian Durbar tradition.

Nationalists put out the lie that the ammo we were training the Indian solders with was made using cow and pig which is naturally against the religions of both hindus and muslims so they had a massive rebellion. Out of spite we killed them blowing them with cannons because that was their native way of executing crimes against the state before we got there.
btw nationalists were of course lying about the ammo we wouldn't train people to be solders and then do an epic prank to offend their religions but they were still based for trying to kick us out of their country.
