Yeah ok, maybe youre right Holywood/Hong Kong didn't invent the hooded assassin (fictional) stereotype however, you can't deny you see those depictions of ninjas way more in non Japanese media. Most Japanese media with ninjas is somewhat more accurate, look at characters like Mai, Guy, Eiji, and Ibuki, pretty much just tradition based martial artists who in no way are shadow warrior assassins who poof in smoke and have black magic etc. An exception would be Hanzo from Samurai Shodown, which had about three different versions of ninja stereotypes
