This is simultaneously an awful and great launch. Anyways, here's a smite Tutorial for retards. You'll notice the double beam go away once the mob gets close enough.

You can tell when you're double hitting smite by the beams. Made a quick lil webm for the newbies who've never touched the skill.

At the start I'm double hitting, when you can see it change to single hits when it gets close.
