>It's over for GrapheneOS.
I just got a Pixel 8 this year for Graphene to avoid shit like this. Didn't Google cut them off form the firmware for future Pixels? I hate how bigtech wears FOSS as a skin suit.
I try to explain how this is a problem to normis but I always get blank fiuride stares.

/v/ here, there was a lawsuit that determined that third parties can publish software for any computer (Atari vs Activision, i think) but the likes of Nintendo, Sega, Sony, etc. have gotten away with requiring a license to publish for their computer systems for decades. The only real way out would be for GNU/Linux on mobile to reach a mature enough state that it can be used as somthing other then a novelty. The only alternative i could think of is to somehow start a movement that makes life without a smart phone normal again. Good luck convincing the normal cattle away from their pastures.

>aren't they now required to support other app stores?
Yes, and this would allow them to keep a tighter control over android. This is why antitrust is not enough to deal with these anti-human things. We need something stronger than antitrust.
