Yeah I haven't read the books myself but it's just common sense that a VERY long living being like Holo would have romantic partners that have long died by now, there is no reason to even assume otherwise.

I think it also might have been an editor's suggestion, after it got a good following sales and merch could take a hit if the otakus come to the conclusion that holo isn't "pure", so they add that holo is totally a virgin even though that's just being retarded
