The mountains have enough of your wet dream style stuff as it is. We have mountain coasters, aerial trams and ski resorts everywhere.
>blindly worshipping what's already there
isn't that the whole point of travel? to see the stuff that has been appreciated by the past generations of travellers and tourists? the real beauty of America lies in it's past, because the present version of this country is actual dystopia by comparison. So being able to recapture the nostalgia of the past through countless sights and attractions, whether natural or man-made is what makes this country unique and special. There just isn't as big of an assortment of things to easily enjoy in most of the rest of the world. We have everything conveniently located along our highways and byways with plenty of hotels, motels and good airbnbs in between. And we have a mix of old and new, with something for everyone almost everywhere you go. We've got the parks, we've got the museums and we've got the tourist stuff, and we've got by far the largest selection of dining options in every city and town compared to anywhere else in the world. To act like the US isnt one of the best countries in the world to travel is disingenuous. It's just an angle Americans like to take to convince themselves that the grass is greener elsewhere when it's really not. The big cities in Europe in 2025 are just as dangerous as they are here, and the cost of traveling to the "beautiful" hike-able places in Europe compared to the US is a major difference with the US winning in value by a massive margin. The cost of gas and lodging alone makes road tripping in other parts of the world essentially undoable. Road trips are the ultimate form of travel and tourism in the US was built on it so that's why we worship what's already here because it's fucking awesome. If it wasn't such a great travel experience people wouldnt be coming from all over the world to do a Route 66 road trip or drive cross-country between coasts.
