Does anybody else support the idea Kris isn't sandbagging against the Knight on purpose, and instead they're scared?
The dialogue supports Kris feels physically ill fighting it, and their damage is small and gets bigger if they're the only left from building up courage to fight back for their friends. It can be a mixture of guilt knowing they're helping the Knight and betraying their friends + seeing this sickly creature as a person they used to know.
