I disagree, The Troubles were the product of Northern Ireland's unique demographics and geography. You can't really take what happened in a region smaller than Orange County of 1.5 million people to and translate that into a country that's the third largest in both land mass and population worldwide.

Pretty easy to get a positive k/d when you're not engaging in pitched battles (which larger guerilla movements like the Vietcong and the Taliban did on a regular basis)
