is it worth making a Linux VM (I'm thinking Mint) to try it out/tinker with it and get a feel for the experience? I don't want to give up Windows as my main OS (on a laptop and I wanna be able to play games), but I am also getting beyond frustrated with how bad it's getting otherwise.
I tried a USB boot earlier, but the brightness control was fucked up, and it reset itself after the first reboot, so I don't know if that's the way to go. Also running an OS on a USB stick feels like performance will be degraded a lot. I also heard dual boot rapes your system so I won't do that.
