The Oasisamericans in the southwest (Like pic related) had a decline around 1300-1400, so by the time Europeans arrived the Pueblo etc had mostly diminished into smaller societies. The Mississippians across the Eastern US had somewhat of a decline in the same period, which led to Cahokia's abandoment, but many other towns survived, and early Spanish explorers like De Soto got caught up in some of their wars, but diseases alongside conflicts with other groups and with European colonists led to their abandonment as well mostly, before the 13 American colonies really took off and manfiest destiny became a thing
Some groups like the Natchez continued building Mississippian style towns well into the 1700s though
