I'm tired, boss.
At least I've gotten half a dozen shiny Magikarp/Binacle/Flabebe for future trades...

Eviolite Doublade is much superior to Aegislash due to the latter's animations taking a day and a half to finish.

So, as a dumbass who never played SV and has little knowledge on how these things go I still decided to do some napkin math, assuming everything here and elsewhere is accurate.
Documents supposedly say SV's DLC sold 6.15 million units. The DLC costs 35 bucks, so times that by the amount of people who bought it and you get roughly 215 million dollars of money made. Likely a little lower in reality due to being sold worldwide and the different currency conversion rates so we'll round it to 200 million. The DLC cost them 1.423 billon yen or about 9.44 million USD to make according to documents, not quite at the level of Legends: Arceus at 2.175 billion yen but close.

Game Freak says if the DLC goes even more overbudget like this again that the costs will be greater than the revenue for them. To reiterate, the DLC cost them 9.44 million USD to make, and rounding down the DLC generated 200 million in total revenue. Let's be a little generous and say the point at which the DLC's costs would've overrun Game Freak's revenue from selling it is if the DLC cost 15 million USD to make, a little more than what Arceus costed. Even then, 15 million USD is only 7.5% of 200 million USD, the rounded amount of total revenue SV's DLC generated. Assuming I haven't messed up anywhere, even when you fudge the numbers a little this seems to very strongly suggest that when Pokemon games sell, Game Freak receives less than 10% of the revenue, and well, that certainly explains a few things, doesn't it?
