Also Republicans are getting anime banned through ID laws that are passing only in states they fully control. So they're waging a multi prog war of freedom.

>Both sides!
>No everyone is actually left!
No, it's only the right wing, the Republicans, who are banning you from getting anime and porn.

Don't let Republican bots distract you from the fact that game sites are blocking only Republican states because they're the only ones passing bans

Which is why in America when you apply the global overton window, you have a center right party, the democrats and the a fringe right wing party, the republican.
But the democrats currently (key word before you try a false equivalency) have enough brains to not be pushing for pans on porn and video games like Republicans are.
Case in point, here's a list of states that Denpasoft, a video game storefront, has to block because of the state bans. They are all Republican controlled.

The only reason to have a federal law at this point would be to force states that are resisting the bans to fall in line. In this case, the democratic states. (Any state where you see it was killed or pending is almost always brought forward by a republican in those states, but the democratic majorities vote it down.)

>Or can internet companies simply ignore state laws?
They cannot because it opens them to criminal and civil liabilities, I.E. the state or a private group will sue them into bankruptcy. That means it's easier for companies to just block access to states with the law, which you're already seeing with Depnasoft which sells hentai VNs in America.
