Correct, to the point that it isn't even hyperbole to phrase it exactly like that. And it's so baked into the hard reality of American life, as such a series of thoroughly rational responses to incentives merely playing out in the aggregate, that most Americans do it without ever even consciously thinking it.

It doesn't even matter what people's espoused beliefs are. Even die-hard, diversity-loving, pride-flag-flying "allies" will - as soon as they have the money - totally organically slide into a lifestyle where they can go entire weeks at a time without seeing a single black face in person. They just move somewhere that's "nice" and "safe" and that has "good schools" because it's the obvious thing to do - and simply don't think about the fact that it isn't a coincidence that their happy town has a 95+% White population and no stops or stations for the Negro Access Network to reach it from.

Even negros themselves do it. The second one of them gets the money to do so, they fuck off as far away from all the trains and buses and other negros as they can afford to be, just like everybody else.
