due to the low barrier to entry for a long time 99% of generations on the internet were retards just gen-ing default stable diffusion shit. now people know how to actually mix artists and do post-editing so you have a ton of stuff that people don't even realize is ai. thus a observation bias with the stuff they DO recognize
there are accounts I've seen on twitter with 200k+ followers that pose as real artists to grift with patreon and nobody seems to call them out. I see REAL artists retweeting their stuff too. it's pretty grim
