My opinion is that this reinforces my belief that monosexuality is a larp that people do because of homophobia. Once you've been with a guy you're dirty and women won't like you, so you might as well lean into it. And if you haven't been with a guy, or at least don't want people to know you have, then you lean hard into being "strrrrrr8" because the alternative is a loss of social status. Committed gays will team up with strrrrrr8s to pull bisexuals into their crab bucket, or ostracize them and say they're "confused or opportunists" as a devil's bargain to get straights to grant them more rights. "We're just like you but for guys". Same deal with the born this way meme. It's misguided, short sighted appeasement, and it clearly hasn't worked, but much like the democratic party, the LGBT culture is ruled by a bunch of scared collaborationists who will gladly die in defense of the trap they built for themselves while doggedly insisting that there is nothing wrong with any of this.
