I didn't pick up on that stuff on my first read but these days it is my favourite aspect. At the end when Aizen is actually defeated he rages, for the first time in the manga we see him angry but he isn't angr at Ichigo or at defeat. He is angry at Kisuke. Angry at a man who had the mind to understand reality and change but who instead chooses to do nothing and let the whole world stagnate.
Absolutely masterful and it really elevates Aizen from most other shounen antagonists.

Does he? I only read it years ago and all I remember about him is "betraying" the group, getting a whole fitful of power shoved up his ass, then doing nothing, then he goes for his second round of betraying but all the damage he does gets instantly applied back to him in one move by Haschwalt and he goes down.
Fucking wanker.
