> What kind of church do you recommend?
You’ll need to shop around in your area to find one you like. Different denominations have different cultures. Find a church that feels warm and inviting to you.

Mid size and families with young children is a sign of good health. I’d start there.

Big churches can be ok and have lots of services and options for interaction.

Small churches with only old people are usually dying for some reason. Often it’s due to a political split. Stay away.

These are good middle of the road Protestant denominations: Baptist, Covenant, Presbyterian.
Catholic or Orthodox is fine but a bit too formalized for my taste.

NOT Christian: Mormon, Jehovah's Witness, Unitarian.

Go sit in a service Sunday morning and see how it feels. Anyone is always welcome in any church anywhere in the world. Talk to people around you if you want. Or not, it’s up to you.

Basic Christian doctrine is to welcome people into the church. They all want you there.
