I sorta came to this epiphany back in 2023 when I realized that I really like the designs of female fighting game characters, but never in my life want to play a fighting game.
So then I thought, "Well, I can just goon to these characters or watch cutscenes of them on YouTube and still get what I want out of their game."
And I sorta never looked back. I forced myself to play through Dark Souls 1. Was about to start Dark Souls 2 when I came to this realization. So instead of actually playing the game, I looked at the boss fights on YouTube and read up on the lore and had a fun time doing that. And then I jerked off to Gwynevere rule 34.
Life's never been better. Barely play games now. But I can still talk about the stories or discuss how hot Eve is (and goon to her). I got through the entirety of the Metal Gear series in a weekend when it would've taken me a month otherwise. It's so much easier to enjoy video games by forcing it to be a static medium and enjoying it with no input on your part.
