Reposting my take on part 2 as someone who read the whole thing for the first time last week
I'd say it's still fun, but its painful because it used to be an 8/10 and now it's a 5/10
Part 2 failed at many things
It failed at rebuilding an interesting cast, Asa being the only real character.
It failed at developing Denji trough Nayuta, he's stuck to his old self forever and Nayuta is dead
It failed at worldbuilding by expanding on the questions the reader had at the end of part 1 about public safety, the nature of pochita, the nature of devils and why they can be redeemed, how Makima came to be as she was and what role the government played in it, even how the fuck Nayuta ended up in Kishibe's hands. Instead, it created even more questions that will never be answered.
It failed at creating interestings villains to string the plot along, Reze, Makima, the assassins, the looming threat of the gun devil, part 1 kept the reader on edge, part 2 just kind of happens, one nonsensical event after the other
It failed at continuing part 1's setup. Denji is not tracking down the blood devil, we never see his highschool shenanigans, and we never see how he actually raises Nayuta. Instead we go on some odd "church of the chainsaw" adventure.
Part 2 feels directionless, empty, devoid of all the characters and tension that made part 1 good.
That is not to say I straight up hate the characters in it, or straight up hate the plot in it, it's still passable, hence a 5 and I will keep reading, but it could have been much better
