I think the main distinction between something like Redwall and more typical anthro focused fantasy is a lot of the setting leans on the animal aspects being core to a characters identity. Same with size disparity being a common theme that complicates interaction within the world.
Just look at Mouseguard where just ordinary regular ass crabs and seagulls are a life and death struggle whereas something more furry like ironclaw wouldnt even consider them worth thinking about.

I think thats enough difference for these types of settings to have their own genre to describe them. And I am autistic enough to want a name so we have something to call these kinds of threads because Im fond of the discussions and art.
