>It has in terms of how games are ballooning in filesize
I can agree with this to a certain extent, but I don't like the idea of people thinking that the days of all games being no bigger than 5 gigs in size would last forever. Yes, a lot of developers nowadays suck at generally compressing their games and having intelligent solutions to decrease file sizes. That much is true, but it's also true to say that games have either more content or higher quality assets than ever before. High quality audio, both music and voice lines can take up a massive amount of space. High quality textures also take up a massive amount of space. There's an innate hypocrisy with gamers nowadays that love to say games look and perform like shit when they're not willing to spend the money it takes to properly run the games or to download the assets that make the games look better. The fault is both on developers and consumers, with neither side willing to better their own situation.
