Race wise, Orin is a Changeling, which is (IIRC) the result of humans having kids with Doppelgangers, and that checks out with Sarevok.

Usually they have pale white skin and featureless faces, maybe Larian added those swirls for artistic purposes and maybe some Bhaalist motifs
