I always tought the look of AK fighters in Uprising was cool. you can see how they would kill a German occupier, take his equipment, and create a unique blend of Polish, civilian and German stuff.

what "writing on the wall"?

they weren't really overstretched at all, and the germans were in a very weak position (which the Uprising also exposed). the fact the Uprising went for as long as it did showed how weak the Germans were in the sector as they were in a state of demoralization, panic and withdrawal. don't get me wrong, I understand the Russians in this case. The last thing Russia wanted was armed Polish people to be alive, because they wanted to establish a puppet state so obviously they would never tolerate nationalist people. I think this was a naive hope of the Uprising participants, however, I still admire them and support their actions because its much better to die with a rifle in your hands than to be shot in a ditch somewhere.
and now, we didn't ally with Germans in terms of Czechs. Actually today we enjoy very good relations with Czechs so this isnt really a good comparison either. Russia allied with Germans, even embracing each other and taking photos and holding joint parades after they annexed Poland together. thankfully the USSR was very incompetent and only lasted about 40ish years after ww2.
