First season treats Picard like hes stupid, outdated and useless. A bunch of "Hey, remember this thing from that show you liked?" moments. A bunch of new characters who you're never gonna remember the name of a year after you're done watching it. Also a few old characters show up because they needed a paycheck

Second season was during Covid. They basically go back in time and walk around Los Angeles for the whole season

Third Season feels like finally realized the first two seasons don't feel like TNG at all, so they finally start doing TNG stuff

As others have said you could watch the third season and miss hardly anything
