Trump was never serious about mass deportations. If he was, he would be remigrating upwards of 10,000 per day. Not arrests, not trials. 10k or more of output, every day. In truth, 30k per day, for 4 years, would be the figure necessary to achieve lasting results in this presidential term.
Instead, Trump does some performative actions, wastes time, waffles on the H1B and student visa questions, and backpeddles on migrant farm and service industry labor.
The one issue he actually seems committed to is filtering out anti-zionist immigration. Anti-white is fine. Brownoids are fine. Just dont criticize jews.
