It's a very unforgiving game (aside from savescumming) and definitely shows its age, but it's essentially a very atmospheric sword&sorcery game where you go through several stages on your way to hunt down and kill the one driving the forces of darkness into taking over the land! It's just one of my personal favorites, but I can definitely see why people would have problems with it. It's also got some surface level similarities with the original Dark Souls games, but it's definitely a classic PC game at heart with a pretty interesting combat system.
