>I swear this whole genre is cursed to be stuck with this game because everyone else is borderline incompetent.
In DayZ's defense, its modding community has been going nuts lately. We usually get a new map every few months now. The big hype recently-ish was a California map and an Ohio map.
We're getting Takistan 2 later this year or early next year.

It does suck that we're stuck with it but with how far its come, at least we have it compared to ugly casualized slop like Tarkov and Pubg.
There's still no game that hits the "I barely survived a blizzard, wolves and almost bleeding to death and now I'm cozy cooking steaks innawoods by a campfire" vibe that DayZ delivers.
