I always thought her original series actually started out pretty interesting. She was an experiment by the High Evolutionary to save her life from radiation poisoning, got these weird powers, was exploited by Hydra and suddenly had to integrate with the normal world that she had no experience with. Also she used to radiate disruptive pheromones which caused most folks to take an immediate disdain for her which made her even more of a social alien.

All that got dropped of course and now she's pretty interchangeable with any other modern femme except that she has (?) a kid.
