Well, there are differences. Baraqu has more control over you and obligates you to being his lover even unto the end of year 1. Inanis gives you more freedom outside of the 3 month period where you serve as some guy's concubine, then you're no one's lover. Baraqu is all about water magic, with Inanis you're all about shadow magic. Inanis's path also ties you to the Sana, the effects of which are going to be an unknown. Similarly, we know way more about Baraqu's intentions, especially towards you, than we do Inanis's. How does she see the player, and what does she intend for us in the end? These are completely unknown in year 1, she has played those cards close to her chest. Anyway, I absolutely understand preferring Baraqu (not having to deal with the Sana, his intentions being a known factor) and as of year 1 his path is objectively better in regards to rewards and power (Inanis's no implement casting is nice, but you only get a baby tier spark and no real artifacts so far) but that's not really what it's about. Like I said, I just feel drawn to Inanis's path, despite it not being as strong as Baraqu's so far. There's just something about it that makes me pick it regardless that I can't explain.
